Castle Combe Rally Day

We had a great day. Nick and Hazel(nut) came down and spent the day with us. Neither had sat in a competition car been used in anger before, or maybe hadn’t sat in one at all. First event was track time, and Nick was in the passenger seat. Queuing for the start the header tank level switch did it’s thing again and flew off. This has now gone to the top of “Jobs to do”. Bodged up, and there is no other way to describe what we did, we went out and had some fun. Coming into Quarry one of the first times I think I must have locked a wheel as when I came off the brakes it all got quite exciting.

Hazel wanted to go onto the stage, but was relucatant. The crew talked her into it, and she loved it.

The car seemed to lack urgency at the top end, not much but there. After a long debate we changed the fuel pump, which instantly made everything better.

All in all, a great day out. BTJ and I were on the same track sessions so had great fun chasing each other.

Thanks to Kirsty was lending us some water after ours all jumped out, and to Mark for keeping the thing in one piece as usual.
