I found some photos I took a while ago when repairing the sills, and thought I should have a section about general ongoing repairs from Accident damage to failed components and general car deterioration. This is all under “Build”
Fat Albert 26 Oct 2013
Added a new page for this event. Most slippery event I have ever slithered around.
Power Steering
Added a new section about power steering. Also updated a few galleries.
Car has had power steering cooler fitted, suspension checked and replaced, Oil changed, fuel filters replaced for bigger ones, fuel tank removed and fuel removed via a strainer, then put back and swilled around, then removed. No contamination found so hopefully the fuel starvation issue was the filters blocking.
Added window sliders to try and reduce in car temperatures.
Got to mess about with the exhaust mounts and get them stronger, may also try and get the system closer to the car, see if we have time.
Sumpguard
Added some more photos of the sumpguard as people wanted to know more about fitting etc.
Have been going through all the small jobs that are on the board. One was to add a heat shield for one of the front suspension bushes. The exhaust sits next to it and we were concerned it may melt, or at least adversely affect it. Took the bush off to gain access and found that grit had made it’s way between the moving parts. That will have to be a service item from now on after an event – remove and clean bushes. Shield looks OK, may need some trimming when the sumpguard goes back on.
Castle Combe Rally Day
We have booked a session at Castle Combe for the Annual Rally Day. We get 4 track sessions, with other rally cars only, and 4 goes around a stage. Can’t imagine the stage is too exciting, but at least we can take friends for a drive around.
If you make it there then drop in and say hello, I am sure you will recognise the car. I think normally we are over the foot bridge, not in the main pit area – could be wrong though.
Photos
Added Photos of us at Portreath. Was seriously thinking of going to Boconnoc, but decided against in the end. Next outing will probably be to Castle Combe for the Rally day in September, then back to the Fat Albert Stages in October. We have a white board full of jobs, mostly quite small. We need to install a roof vent as it gets very hot in the car, but there seems to only be two on the market. One made from Carbon which looks very good, and the other from fibreglass that looks utter pants. Unfortunately the cost gets multiplied when the word “Carbon” is mentioned.
Update 30th May 2013
Had a great weekend out at Portreath, and even winning a Pot, well allright a shield but that doesn’t sound right. Details in the Competition section

Welcome to the New Look M3 Rally web page.
It could take a while for all the info to migrate across, but I will do my best.
